Blade & B

About the work

Blade & B was designed for the entrance lobby of the residence within the same luxury mall and residence project, as the first work a visitor meets on arrival.

Thin steel blades rise side by side from a base plate. At roughly two and a half metres, the piece answers the scale of the lobby through rhythm rather than mass. The gaps between the blades matter as much as the blades: light passes through them, and the sculpture changes as one walks around it.

The blade profiles were laser-cut from sheet steel, welded one by one to the base and finished in a satin champagne-gold powder coat.
