Projects › The Mask
A private residence · July 2021 · Steel frame, fibre cast, satin brass finish · Emperador Dark marble base

The Mask was designed with EG Mobilya for the space beneath the staircase of a private residence. Between floating marble steps, brass-slatted panels and a bed of white pebbles, it was meant to be the single focal point.
A face is split in two by a gap at eye level; below it, a hand raises a finger to the lips. The gesture of silence creates a brief pause in a space people pass through all day.
The form was modelled digitally, built up in clay over a steel frame, moulded, cast in fibre and finished in satin brass. With its 60 cm Emperador Dark marble base, it stands 185–190 cm tall.
