Servi

About the work

In Servi the first decision came before the figure: the material. Studying the natural stone and colour palette of a house in Istanbul, it was clear the work had to be bronze.

The house leaned towards abstraction, yet a wholly abstract form would not have found its place in that corridor. Servi is a fluid female figure, free of excess detail, conceived within the stylised figure tradition of organic modernism.

Its slender height, like the cypress it is named after, is deliberate: it carries the calm of the space vertically without interrupting the corridor.
