Baghdad, Iraq · DZ Casa · Steel armature, clay model, cast, metal pipe · 140–150 cm · February 2024

Basin Head is a basin faucet made from half of a David head. Water runs from a thin metal pipe in the mouth into the basin below. The piece was made for DZ Casa, a design brand in Baghdad, and installed whole in the washroom area; in February 2024 it was also shown at the DZ Casa showroom in Baghdad.
The head was first drawn on the computer. A steel armature of three metric threaded rods was placed inside it; the piece is fixed with these rods into three holes drilled in the wall. A small clay prototype came first, then the 140–150 cm head was modelled in clay in the studio.
It was moulded, cast and its surface was finished. It was packed in crates, shipped to Iraq and installed on site.
