Projects › Brass Fluid
Istanbul · A luxury mall and residence project · Laser-cut solid brass, hand-bent · Two walls

Brass Fluid was designed for the marble walls on either side of an entrance in the private area of the same project. The aim was to turn an everyday passage into a threshold.
The two pieces answer each other: one gathers near the door and opens upwards, the other ripples down towards the floor. On the calm marble, the thin brass strips read like traces left by water or wind, and the satin brass catches the ceiling light along its edges.
Strips about 6 cm wide were laser-cut from solid brass sheet and bent by hand, one by one, in the workshop. After a full-size template trial on the wall, they were fixed with pins.
